Laura Kalish, D.C., J.D., Partner
Laura Kalish grew up in Detroit, Michigan, but has made Houston and surrounding areas her home for many years. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Laura was a practicing chiropractor. She received her D.C. degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1983, and completed her certification in Chiropractic Orthopedics in 1986. She studied health law and earned her J.D. at University of Houston Law Center, graduating in December, 1988. She obtained her Texas Mediator certification in 1988 and Ad Litem certification in 2017. Laura Kalish has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1989, and is also admitted to the U.S. Federal Courts for the Southern District of Texas.
Laura Kalish has practiced in the areas of Probate, Health Care law, Business Law, and Domestic and Intercountry Adoption. She is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association.
Currently, Laura is the marketing partner for the firm and she regularly writes various legal articles and blogs in Kalish Law Office’s areas of practice. She has been an instructor of Jurisprudence, has presented Risk Management Seminars to employers and health care professionals, and has presented educational seminars to adoption professionals. She also speaks to groups about the importance of having a will and understanding Texas probate procedures. She mediates in the area of probate, business law, and civil disputes.
Laura manages marketing for the firm, the Kalish Law Office Facebook page (she suggests you become a fan!) and Twitter page, and the firm’s blog. The blog covers many areas of the law, and provides good tips on how to handle common legal problems and issues.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys photography, travel and language study as a hobbies. Laura has three adult children and lives in The Woodlands with her husband Bob Kalish and their beagle.
