
Attorney Siomara Ramirez Pitre is an experienced litigator and a family law mediator. She has several years of practice experience in the areas of family law, divorce, modification, domestic adoption, international adoption, and cases involving child protective services (CPS). She also has experience in civil litigation. She is bilingual and regularly handles cases that require a Spanish speaker. She joined the Kalish Law Firm in 2008.
Sio was born in Guatemala. She immigrated to the U.S. as a small child and grew up in the Los Angeles area. She received a BA in History from UCLA. After graduation she chose to make Houston, Texas her home. She graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. As a law student, she placed in two Moot Court Competitions and was the recipient of the Antonio Criado Memorial Scholarship.
Sio handles a variety of family law cases, from simple uncontested divorce cases to family law cases involving complex assets, or multiple and unusual issues. She has the knowledge and experience to handle cases involving visitation, custody, and support. Many of her clients have an international background or work internationally. She regularly represents both parents and children in CPS cases. (Child Protective Services).
Because of Sio’s knowledge of adoption procedure and intercountry adoption law, she has had several years experience in assisting parents with the legal aspects of adopting internationally. She also has several years of experience with step parent adoptions and other domestic adoptions, both private and agency- assisted.
She has handled complex cases for clients during negotiations, mediation and judge and jury trials. She has knowledge and experience in negotiating good and fair settlements for her clients. Sio has been in courthouses in counties all over Texas.
Sio has been chosen one of the “10 Best Female Attorneys” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. She has also been honored by HTexas Magazine as a “ Houston Top Lawyer”; as a “Top Lawyer for The People” and as an “Attorney on the Fast Track”. She has written numerous general litigation defense articles, and has given public presentations on her areas of practice.
Sio Ramirez Pitre is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Mexican American Bar Association, and the Phi Alpha Delta Sorority.
Sio is a resident of the Woodlands and is married to Andrew and has three children. She practiced in Houston for several years. In 2008 she decided to “come home to the Woodlands” and joined the Kalish Law Firm. She is aggressive and enthusiastic in her representation of her clients. Her belief is to handle every case with the utmost legal professionalism while aggressively fighting for her clients’ rights.
